Sick kids and Mummy guilt.. How do we win?

So its a Tuesday afternoon, usually I'm at work or rounding up gearing to pick up the kids.. But today I'm home, still in my PJ's, with my faithful tea mug close by.
The kids are all home too, so naturally I need a cup of tea ever more frequently to moisten my throat for the bouts of "stop it" and "No!' I'll be yelling all day.

Lost Manners and the importance of self-evaluation.

Hello my people.. Happy new month! As we usher in this new month, we pray for new focus, rejuvenated resolutions, and new mindsets.
On that note, I want to discuss a trend so sadly rampant in this day and age. More especially with my peers and age groups and youth of today.

Feminisim: In context to the 2015 woman.

Women lets do some real talk!

I am a proud mother of 3. I have 2 spirited (not naughty), highly boisterous, playful boys who can run around my couch all day long till they pass out! I also have a 6 month old daughter that now crawls with the speed of light and attempting to stand at any chance she gets.. You get the picture? In addition to my domestic lifestyle, like most women I also work. My routine involves making breakfast, packing school lunches, get the baby ready for creche all before packaging myself off to work. Usually late. I have the help of a live-in house-help (not a nanny, a Nigerian help does it all and doesn't have a specific job description) and a caring husband. But at the end of the day, he's still a man.

Selma. A Homage to the Oscars

The annual Academy Awards held last night, February 22nd 2015 in Los Angeles, California and it was pretty much predictable. In my opinion, there was no exceptional film in all the categories. I usually watch for the fashion and to see if a movie I support won. But in this case, having watched 5 out of the 8 nominated films up for the coveted best picture award, I really only had an affinity for one of them. Selma.

Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb - My muse of the week

No matter how busy I get, I need my daily news fix. One needs to know what is going on in the world, Nigeria has become a focus now due to the up-coming elections and personally I tune in to be more aware and alert.. just incase some infomation could be life-saving. Watching the news has become a sad, but necessary routine due to its content. But every now and then, amidst the chaos of death, devastation, inhumanity and world radicalisation, just every now and then someone with some common sense emerges to say what i believe most are thinking.

Lets get started....

So, it's Friday. Closed from work 2pm as most nursing mothers in the country.. Thankfully, the boys are on mid-term break so I don't have 'school runz' and free to do a little errands with baby H in toe. I usually have a lot on my mind. I replay events, conversations had, news viewed, problems and solutions a lot as I go through my day. I'm a queen multi -tasker. A little frantic sometimes, ok most times, (lol) but non the less effective so bear with me.. Right now, I hope Samira Yepwi blog becomes a daily stop for my people, especially my young mums, hustling and bustling in the daily routine of life, work and family. I encourage comments and proactive discussions of many of the topics brought up here explored further. If only the world was truly run by women! Hmmmm. Another topic for another day. #feminist
Let the blogging begin.
